     When I came to you in December I had just completed my first round of chemotherapy. Loss of appetite, mouth dryness, nausea and worry dominated my life. After the first session I left with a voracious appetite and couldn't shovel the food in fast enough. Over the next four months during each session you provided me with different techniques to counteract each side effect.

     After the treatment we began hypnotherapy to change behaviors that did not serve me any more. An improved version of me has emerged. Using the relaxation technique, control of my daily stress is possible to a degree I have never felt before.

Hi Garrett,

     I hope all is well with you. I am feeling confident and happy and strong.  As a matter of fact, my therapist and I are having a funeral for my anorexia today. I'm going to bury it deep down in the cold dirt where it belongs!  Here are some of my thoughts on the effect that the hypnosis had on my treatment. You have my permission to use my statement for your website if you wish.

     From the age of 8 until the age of 24 I struggled with severe anorexia nervosa. For those of you with eating disorders, you know that it is a very tortured and horrible way of "living". One day, luckily, I woke up with a new-found resolve to get better and seek recovery. I sought out a treatment team and plan. With a lot of research and a lot of luck, I found an incredible therapist and nutritionist. It wasn't until then that I truly began my journey on the path towards recovery and freedom. Upon further research and discussion with my treatment team, I also decided to add hypnotherapy to my treatment. I want people out there to be aware that although it is not a common approach to treating eating disorders, Garret has aided my recovery greatly through hypnotherapy. I feel very strongly that in conjunction with traditional therapy, hypnosis can be a great and very successful tool in the treatment of eating disorders. I have recently completed hypnotherapy and I am more free than I could have ever imagined!

     Due in large part to the hypnosis, I am more at peace with the issues that caused my e.d. and I got to really resolve and bring closure to painful situations. I got to confront and end the pain of my past. Hypnosis also helped in the sense of changing my destructive behavior. It taught me how to relax and to see food as something I need and not the enemy. It taught to me accept myself and to keep working towards everything that I want in my life and in recovery. Due in large part to the hypnotherapy, I am eating well and gaining weight and reclaiming myself and my life that had been lost for so long. For those of you who are suffering-you don't have to!! You deserve better and hypnosis can help you get there!

Dear Mr. Buttel,

     I loved my experiences here. As I am under hypnosis I imagine myself calm & in control of situations, as I have brought into my everyday life.
